Description:
The Regina Pacis Parish serves a densely populated neighborhood that stretches along the road section Corso De Stefanis / Piazzale Parenzo / Lungobisagno Istria / Piazza Garassini, as well as streets that climb the hill. The Church, the parish headquarter, has a use of space to accommodate only some of the pastoral activities, but is penalized in the outdoor spaces and rather decentralized towards the parish territory. It is for this reason that it was decided to build a chapel branch in Via Tortona, but the changing situations of roads and other changes led to the construction of a pastoral-recreational building with a sports ground in place of the old "house" known to the inhabitants of the area.
The new structure creates the recovery of the abandoned space between Via Tortona and Via Toti allowing an adequate expansion of public vehicular traffic and thus making it more accessible the populous residential district on the side that suffered for years because of the difficulty of access and lack of services. The new building full of classrooms and spaces for the community has alsoa football field with synthetic grass.
The architecture of the new building is permeable to the view through big windows that highlight the social character and the relations that it must engage with the local population. A flight of doves on the front of Via Toti is a reference to the name of the Parish and a symbol of the desire to encourage the growth of peace and harmony.
