The aim of the study is to create urban redevelopment and recovery functions of urban areas of the railway freight yard Vigevano. These city center areas will be free as a result of the restructuring of the railway line Milan - Mortara also through the lowering of the iron level (about 3.00 ml) with a structure function for a kind of urban mobility service. The examined hypothesis set as objectives the infrastructural and structural assessment of collective spaces, otherwise difficult to place within the same central areas, considering the unique opportunity offered. The study therefore identifies which axis of the intervention the general direction the line of the railway. The organization of the spaces is articulated by this axis according to functional strips parallel to each other. On the side facing the historic urban fabric, a new alignment, designed for management activities without excluding residential activities, allows to reach the level of the corresponding deck section of the railway line. Subsequently, the space above the railway line is left mostly free and set-up for open public spaces. The area is characterized by a large zone arranged as square for the access to the new railway station and by a new building arranged for common tasks such as auditoriums, conference center and multiplex cinema. The new station, whose main body is doubled on the other side of the line, is accessible from three sides. The third consists of a large shelter that, covering the total length of the streets of platforms, will extend up to a height of accommodation of overpass areas  becoming a focal point of attraction for the open space in front of the Auditorium.

In general, the project achieves:
- The reconnection of fabrics and urban paths between the parts of the city separated by the railway
- The multiplication of points of pedestrian access to the docks of the railway line
- The creation of park and ride facilities
- The retrieval of actual areas available for the exchange of public transport
- The use of the free areas from the cargo for the establishment of urban activities
- The establishment of a center of urban interest (the auditorium)
